Why I Support Trump

I was raised by extremely patriotic, staunch democrats who served during wartime in the US Army (my father during the Korean War; my mother, Vietnam). Although my parents weren’t very political, generally speaking, they voted Democrat straight down their ballots, like most other black Americans. Love for America was a huge deal in my childhood home. Even today, I still get choked up every time I hear the National Anthem.

That said, I have always been a free thinker and have never voted solely based on political party. Unlike my parents, I have never been a Democrat. I have always been registered as an Independent. And, until recently, I never really got involved in political matters (though I certainly have many opinions about government corruption!).

Nevertheless, this election is different. The United States of America is at a crossroads. The country is divided, in turmoil, and metaphorically at the edge of a cliff in regards to its future direction. So, I’m putting myself out there and putting my beliefs on the line to say that I am supporting Donald J. Trump this November. I believe Trump is the candidate that will provide the country with a fighting chance at becoming the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, ruled by the Constitution once again.

Donald Trump is not perfect. No human and, therefore, no politician is. I certainly don’t agree with everything he has said. However, if you get your news from the mainstream media, which are almost completely biased and supportive of Hillary Clinton, what you’ve seen and been told about Donald Trump include a lot of propaganda and media spin. According to the mainstream media, Donald Trump is racist, involved with the KKK, xenophobic, homophobic, has formal ties to Russia, and the list goes on.

Meanwhile, as people are bickering over the latest antics of Trump and Clinton or otherwise distracted with celebrity news, our cities are under fire with rioting from Black Lives Matters and mass shootings. Law and order have been all but lost in some parts of the country. Millions of our citizens are out of work and many veterans are displaced and disenfranchised.

Repeatedly, we have seen American jobs shipped overseas to China, Mexico, and other lower-cost labor markets, as the impact of globalism has stripped the country of its manufacturing base. It has changed our economy and our cities. Having lived in Detroit for most of the last eight years, I have seen firsthand how the loss of manufacturing jobs has left a once-thriving city badly crippled, struggling to survive.

Once a bastion of the American middle class, many parts of Detroit today are like a ghost town. With abandoned homes, burned buildings, collapsing structures, trash, and graffiti, Detroit has been likened to war-torn Iraq. Considered an epicenter of violence in America today, Detroit is a very misunderstood city. Nevertheless, it is a barometer and bellwether of the inevitable fallout that occurs when a country shifts its focus from national to global economic policies.

The USA is divided. A divided house cannot stand. It is on its last legs, last pillars, its foundation crumbling. This election is going to decide whether we have a fighting chance to go back to abiding by the US Constitution and enforcing national sovereignty or whether we continue down the path of globalism, which will continue to strip the country of its natural wealth.

Is the USA still the Land of Opportunity? Millions of Americans are out of work or underemployed. Many young people are saddled with tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt, yet are unable to find work, in or outside of their field of study. Our streets house hundreds of thousands of homeless people, including many veterans who have honorably served our country. Many veterans cannot get the healthcare they need and deserve.

Meanwhile, our government has troops deployed in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, and other parts of the Middle East, creating a situation that is displacing millions of people who our government wants to bring in as refugees—all this, while our own citizens sleep under bridges or die waiting for treatment at VA hospitals. Many of our roads, airports, and bridges are in need of repair. Why is our government meddling in the Middle East, yet ignoring problems on the homefront? Is it any wonder why there’s so much anti-American sentiment throughout the world today?

Regardless of one’s position on abortion, gay marriage, gender identification, who can use whose bathroom, or other distractions to keep us all fighting and bickering amongst each other, most of us can agree that our country is in trouble. While that’s not to say that the aforementioned issues aren’t important, the powers that be and the media use such issues to divide and conquer us, thereby polarizing the nation. So, how did we get here?

The US government no longer answers to the people. It has been infiltrated by corporate interests, many of which aren’t even domestic companies. Did you know that even the majority ownership of the New York Stock Exchange is held by German interests?

Largely, the politicians in the US government have been bought and paid for by special interests. With few exceptions, most have been selected and placed in office by millions of dollars of corporate money, donated in exchange for political favor. Why would a corporation donate millions of dollars to a political campaign? Corporations donate money to political campaigns in order to control the politicians to whom they are donating.

Much to my dismay, Hillary Clinton is a polished, eloquent debater who has for the most part, in my opinion, dominated the presidential debates. That said, I hope people, who want to see real change in this country, can see through the facade and smokescreen. Hillary Clinton has been a politician for more than three decades. She is part of the establishment, the controlling class of people and entities that have gotten the USA into the mess it is in today.

Her donations come from big business and foreign governments who want her in office, so that they can continue business usual, such as: gambling with our retirement funds, rigging the stock market, entering one-sided trade deals, pillaging the natural resources of invaded countries, and undermining our national sovereignty or authority. For more information about Hillary Clinton’s donations from corporate and foreign-government interests, please check out the Clinton Cash documentary. Furthermore, as proven by the barrage of emails revealed by Wikileaks, the Clintons are eyeball-deep in corruption, including stealing billions of dollars from poor Haitians.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, has largely financed his own campaign. Consequently, he is not beholden or sold out to anyone and, therefore, is free to act in the best interests of the American people.

If you want a better America, please scrutinize the propaganda in the mainstream media. Realize that the entire political establishment is basically against Donald Trump. There is a reason for this. The establishment wants to continue business as usual; its fortune is at stake. The deceptive mainstream media have backed Hillary Clinton and are full of disinformation. The mainstream media are controlled by corporate and political interests with an agenda to keep us all in the dark.

If the mainstream media discredit something, I often consider that a hidden compass pointing to True North. The truth is being largely censored these days, which is a slippery slope and dangerous precedent. We are losing our First Amendment rights in the United States. If we lose our freedom of speech, we will lose everything.

If you are still on the fence, please don’t fall for the hype. Please do some independent research and vote your conscious and for whom you believe will make America a stronger, safer, richer nation than ever before.

Our country’s future is on the line. So, I’ve taken a stand and shared my thoughts, in hopes that they resonate with someone or help someone see through the noise of the dishonest mainstream media. I am jumping, head first, into the arena, because I want to help Make America Great Again. I hope you’ll consider jumping in too.
